Summer Camp

More than a get-away, summer camp is a place where campers explore the outdoors, try new activities, practice independence away from home, learn to work with others, make new friends, and so much more.

Girl Scout Camp combines classic camp activities, including kayaking, horseback riding, ziplining, and campfires with unique Girl Scout traditions of camp songs and games.

Whether campers attend camp daily or spend a whole week away from home, they’ll discover, connect, and take action on issues and challenges that are important to them.

How to register.

You must register for summer camp from the "Register for Summer Camp" section below.  While we do use Doubleknot to manage registrations,  Do NOT attempt to register for summer camp directly from within Doubleknot.  Do not use your MyGS login on the login screen as this is used for gsEvents only. Summer camps registrations will not be found in MyGS either..

New to Doubleknot? If you do not already have a Doubleknot login, do not worry. Once you start the registration, you will be asked to Log in. When you get to that screen, select "Create New User Profile" instead. The system will use your email as the user id and you will be asked to create a password. Then you may continue with the registration.

Returning to summer camp? When adding your camper as a registrant, select "Add Someone I've Signed Up Before" and the system will fill in the fields to save you time. When you are completing the Emergency Contact section, your browser's Autofill feature may write over your girl's name with your own. To prevent this from happening, TURN OFF THE AUTOFILL FEATURE in your browser. Instructions on how to do this can be found HERE.

Before going to the next screen, scroll back up to make sure the girl's name is entered as the registrant. If you miss this part, do not worry. Continue with the registration and we will correct it later on.

Emails, deposits and deadlines.

All registration confirmations and camp information will be sent via email to the person who creates the registration. Please sign up using an email address that gets checked often, connecting to the individual who will complete the necessary camp paperwork for the designated camper.

We discourage troop leaders from registering multiple members of their troop because all communications will be sent to the troop leader instead of the campers’ caregivers. If a troop leader wants to register members for camp using troop funds, please contact customercare@gsctx.org.

A nonrefundable $50 deposit is required at the time of initial registration to hold a selected session. This includes waitlist registrations. If a camper does not get moved into the session for which they are waitlisted, the deposit will be refunded. Remember, you may only register for more than one camp session, including waitlisted sessions, beginning March 1, 2022. Please do not register for more than two waitlisted sessions.

Last Chance Registration Deadline: 14 days prior to the camp session start date.

Payment Deadline: 30 days prior to the camp session start date.

Making Payments   If you choose to pay only the $50 deposit at the time of registration, the system will automatically assign a payment plan that divides your remaining balance into two more payments. At any time, you may log in to your account and pay your balance in full. Paying online is the quickest and most secure method to pay your camp balance. There are two ways to make payments online: From your email confirmation or payment reminder emails, you can scroll down and under the YELLOW section is a link to login to make a payment. Or you may login to Doubleknot directly at https://www.doubleknot.com, find your order and make a payment.

If you prefer to call us with your credit card information, we will accept payment over the phone. Payment may also be mailed by check to the council address. Any registrations submitted less than 30 days prior to the camp session start date must pay the balance in full.

Registration confirmation.

When you've completed registration, the email used on the account will receive an email confirmation with important information, highlighted in the yellow section, which can be found if you scroll down. Please hold on to this email for future reference.

Choosing a camp session.

To help ensure a great camper experience, register your camper for a session that is appropriate for their age and Girl Scout level. Grade levels are noted by their acronym in each camp session in the Camp Guide. Choose an age-appropriate session based on the grade your camper will be entering for Fall 2022. For example, if your camper is currently in 3rd grade and will be entering 4th grade in the fall, the camper should register into a 4th grade Juniors program, even if they have not officially bridged. See details below.

D: Daisies* – Entering 1st grade in Fall 2022

B: Brownies – Entering 2nd or 3rd grade

J: Juniors – Entering 4th or 5th grade

C: Cadettes – Entering 6th, 7th, or 8th grade

S: Seniors – Entering 9th or 10th grade

A: Ambassadors – Entering 11th or 12th grade

Applying Program Credits and financial aid.
Program Credits

If your camper plans to sell 1,000+ boxes of Girl Scout Cookies and plans to choose a free standard week* of camp as their prize, they must still be registered following the standard camp registration process to reserve their spot and should sign up early to secure their preferred session. All camp registrations require a $50 deposit payment at the time of registration to hold the camp session. Once the Girl Scout Cookie Program is complete and all prizes are confirmed, campers who elect a free standard week of camp will be refunded the deposit paid to hold their camp spot.

*Camps marked as Specialty Camp in the Camp Guide are excluded from the free standard week of camp offer.

To apply Program Credits to your camp order please complete the Program Credit form. Once completed, it will be automatically sent to our Events & Reservations Department for processing. We will send you a receipt after it has been applied.

Financial Assistance

We believe every girl deserves to experience the magic of camp and we’re happy to help if it is needed. Typically, financial assistance covers up to 50 percent of camp fees. When applying for financial assistance, follow the standard camp registration process to reserve your spot. All camp registrations require a $50 deposit payment at the time of registration to hold the camp session. Awarded financial assistance will be used to help pay the balance. Please complete the Financial Partnership Form and submit it to start the process.

Financial Partnership forms should be completed at least four weeks in advance of the camper's camp session.

About our Horse camps.

Only interested in Equestrian Camps? You can register for them below. All Equestrian Camps are held at Camp Texlake. After clicking on a link, you can see detailed information about each camp session by selecting "More..." under the camp session name. Please make note of the Program level and skill level required for attendance.

Use extra care to register your camper for a horse program that is appropriate for their level of riding skill. It is not safe for campers or the horses when a camper participates in a program that they are not properly prepared for.  All horse programs include one to one and a half hours per day at the barn with the horses during each full day at camp.

Beginner – Campers who have never ridden a horse, have only ridden a few times in their life, only ride a few times a year, or have less than five years of experience on horses are beginner riders.

Intermediate – Campers who have ridden and can control a horse at a trot, ride several times a year (30 plus days a year), or have begun to take private riding lessons but have been attending for more than one month are intermediate riders. Riders who do not demonstrate proper intermediate skills may be moved to a beginner program for their safety.

Advanced – Campers who take private riding lessons, have ridden consistently for more than six months a year, have ridden consistently (10 plus days a month) for more than five years, or have ridden and controlled a horse at a canter in an arena or on a trail ride are advanced riders. A letter or documentation of riding ability may be required for advanced riding programs. Riders who do not demonstrate proper advanced riding skills may be moved to an intermediate or beginner program for their safety.

About our Leadership camps.

We offer Leadership Camps at both camp properties. Girl Scout Camp leadership programs combine exciting summer camp activities with experiential leadership training, resulting in a unique, fun, and high-quality adventure for Girl Scouts who dream big!

Leadership programs are progressive and are designed based on the ages and development of the campers. Progam Aide in Training is the prerequisite for Leader in Training. Leader in Training is the prerequisite for Counselor in Training, and Counselor in Training is the prerequisite for Wranger in Training. and Operations in Training.  Previous leadership experience can sometimes be substituted for a participation in a leadership program level. For example, campers who have worked as Camp Aides at day camp for multiple sessions may be able to advance directly to the Counselor in Training program based on their experience. Contact  customercare@gsctx.org  for questions regarding the level of leadership training that’s right for your camper.

Each session of a particular program will include similar foundational skills, but as every week’s campers are different, those who attend multiple sessions will have the opportunity to practice a wide range of skills. Programs can be attended multiple times. We encourage campers to try leadership programs at different camps to experience a variety of work environments and styles. Each level of leadership program teaches new skills that are intended to be taken back after camp and applied at the troop, service unit, or day camp level. Do not sign up for progressive levels of leadership programs within the same summer.

A completed Leadership Camp Application is required for all leadership campers as follow up to their initial registration. Look for the link to the application in the registration confirmation email.
