Council Patch Program

Explore your interests and expand your horizons by working on patches and badges created just for you! Girl Scouts of Central Texas offers additional patches, badges, and recognitions that are not listed in your program-level handbooks. Some of the patch programs were written by fellow Girl Scouts as a Silver or Gold Award project. The patches are worn on the back of the Girl Scout’s sash or vest.

Monthly Patch Program

Looking for some additional fun activities for your troop or just to do on your own? GSCTX offers a Monthly Patch Program! Each month a new patch will be offered. You'll have the entire month to complete all requirements of the patch. (For some patches your time frame is extended to allow enough time to complete all requirements.)

Each patch program includes:

  • A specific program area of concentration.
  • The opportunity for girls to discover, connect, and take action.
  • Activities for all Girl Scout age levels.
  • Additional listing of resources to help with executing the patch program.

When you have completed the patch program each month, place your patch order through Doubleknot ($2.50 each) by the 15th of the following month. Links to each patch program are provided below. Patches will be mailed to the troop leader after the monthly deadline. This usually means that the troop leader will receive patches 4-6 weeks after the registration deadline. For example, February patch registration ends on March 15; the patches are then mailed out 4-6 weeks after that date in mid-April. Check with your troop leader if you have not received your patches in that time frame.

April: Wells Fargo Financial Literacy
book inside a circle with Wells Fargo and trefoil

Girl Scouts has teamed up with Wells Fargo to provide real life exposure to girls that will help them become money mavens. This exciting and inspiring FREE PATCH PROGRAM is available to all grade levels and includes an age-appropriate educational online game approach for girls to learn about financial literacy while having fun!  These experiences will not only inspire girls to set glamorous goals, but will also ensure they become savvy money earners and confident money managers.

2013 GSUSA study revealed that 94% of girls would rather make their own money than rely on their parents and 80% would rather make their own money than marry someone who would support them financially.  Girls feels strongly that financial responsibilities should be shared, with 86% saying that both household partners should make financial decision yet only 12% considering themselves very confident making financial decisions. We can change that!

GSCTX and Wells Fargo know that every girl is a part of the future of our economy and we want to ensure they are confident in their financial decision making.  We’re so excited to partner with Wells Fargo Hands on Banking® to make this possible!
