Head outside and track down adventure at the 7th Annual Sasquatch Troop Outdoor Weekend! Bring your troop, including leaders, for a legendary weekend of outdoor skill-building, friendly competition, and Girl Scout sisterhood at Bluebonnet Shores Girl Scout Camp. Whether you're sharing outdoor survival know-how at the Expo, whipping up a feast fit for Bigfoot in the Dutch Oven Cookoff, or racing across camp to complete skills challenges, this is one campout you won't want to leave undiscovered.

Outdoor Skills Expo
Set up like an outdoor science fair, each troop will host an interactive booth featuring an informational display and a hands-on activity. Topics fall under outdoor skills, outdoor art, outdoor cooking, or nature science (e.g., knot tying, fire building, navigation, or Leave No Trace). Troop members will rotate shifts so everyone gets time to present and explore. Each troop must submit three booth ideas in advance (see next steps below).
Dutch Oven Cookoff
Troops will prepare their Saturday night dinner in a Dutch oven and present one portion to our panel of judges. Trophies will be awarded for Best Dessert, Best Presentation, Best Flavor, and Most Creative. Refrigeration is available for perishables. Dinner is not provided by camp on Saturday, so please plan quantities accordingly. A limited number of cast iron Dutch ovens are available to borrow and may be requested at https://www.gsctx.org/sasquatch.
Camp Skills Adventure Race
Wrap up the weekend with a fast-paced navigation and skill-building race around camp. Participants will divide into Junior and CSA teams to tackle trivia, outdoor skills stations, and team-building games. Awards will be presented to the top three finishing teams.
Meals & Logistics
Camp provides Saturday breakfast, Saturday lunch, Sunday breakfast, and a closing celebration cake. Troops provide their own Saturday dinner via the cookoff. Troop leaders, please confirm all dietary restrictions and allergies in advance. Camp can only provide for vegetarian, gluten free, dairy free, and regular diets. If you have any other special dietary needs, you should plan to bring your own food.
