AUSTIN, TEXAS (April 22, 2024) --- Girl Scouts of Central Texas (GSCTX) announced today that Jennifer Alaniz Zoghby, Girl Scout caregiver and board member since 2019, has been elected as President and Chair of the Board of Directors. Jennifer replaces Shelley Clifford Brophy, who will step down from her two-year term as Board Chair.
Jennifer Zoghby is a community advocate and leader recognized for her dedication to public service. Her advocacy includes contributions to literacy initiatives, disability rights, legislative advocacy, and development work. During her tenure on the Girl Scouts of Central Texas Board of Directors, she has held numerous leadership roles including Board Vice Chair and Council Board Development Committee Chair. Jennifer has also served as an ad hoc member on most board committees and represented our council as the delegate team co-chair at the Girl Scouts National Council Session in July 2023. Her passion for supporting those whose voices are often underrepresented continues to inspire her advocacy work on behalf of the Girl Scouts of Central Texas during legislative visits. Jennifer is a proud Latina, grew up in the Rio Grande Valley, and is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin where she majored in Government and Psychology.
