Get ready for an unforgettable 4-day, 3-night Spring Break eco-adventure in Galveston that combines high-energy thrills with hands-on discovery! Soar over the coast on a zip line, paddle through serene marshlands on a guided kayak tour, and cruise the harbor to watch for wild dolphins. Dive deep into marine science as you learn about endangered sea turtles and enjoy relaxing downtime for beachcombing and shelling on the shore. This trip offers the perfect mix of outdoor fun and environmental education, so grab your spot now for an island experience you won't want to miss!

Location: Galveston, TX

Supervision Level: This is a DROP OFF event. Please plan on checking in your registered Girl Scout with required paperwork submitted at check-in.

Special Instructions: Trip Logistics: Departure: Sunday, March 15th @ 9:00 AM (Departing from Austin). Return: Wednesday, March 18th @ ~6:00 PM (Arriving in Austin). Chaperones: GSCTX Staff Member. Included: van transportation, lodging, and all meals in Galveston. Lodging is a modern Girl Scout property with AC, bunk beds, showers, etc. A comprehensive packing list will be sent on Monday, March 2 to all registered participants. Final payment due February 27th.
Who Should Go? This trip is perfect for Girl Scouts interested in: Outdoor Adventures, Marine Science, and Nature & Wildlife.

All participants at this aquatic event will be required to wear a U.S. Coast Guard-approved personal flotation device (PFD/lifejacket) at all times due to the requirements of Safety Activity Checkpoints for this activity. However, swim assessments are required every year for youth and adults participating in any type of Girl Scout aquatic activities including, but not limited to, pool activities, canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding, etc. All participants at a swimming/aquatic event without a completed swim assessment should be assumed to be a non-swimmer and must always wear a Coast Guard-approved personal flotation device (life jacket/PFD).See Safety Activity Checkpoints for details. Swim assessment paperwork should be retained by the troop leader and caregiver. Safety-wise adults should ensure that swimmers remain in aquatic situations appropriate to their swimming ability. 
Badge/Patch: Fun patch given out at the event.

Required Paperwork: Please complete the following sections of the Council Event Health and Permission Forms, print, and bring with you to the event: Section(s) Domestic Travel: Sections A, B, C, and E1-2. Paperwork Deadline: All traveler forms, including a physical exam (dated within 12 months of travel), are due by March 1st. A detailed packing list will be emailed to participants after registration
