Girl Scouts, their troops, and their families are invited to join Women in STEM at The University of Texas at Austin for FREE hands-on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fun on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 11:30 till 4:00. STEM Girl Day 2026 is a large event that is open to the public. Find Girl Scouts of Central Texas on the event map to receive an event patch while supplies last.
UT Austin's national award-winning STEM Girl Day recruitment program, presented by Women in STEM (WiSTEM), gives K-8th graders a chance to explore STEM through grade-appropriate, hands-on activities hosted by scientists, engineers, astronomers, mathematicians and other STEM enthusiasts from student organizations, research centers, corporate partners and community organizations. All genders are welcome!
#UTGirlDay is always a chaperoned event and minors must attend all programming with an adult. The University of Texas at Austin will not take custodial responsibility for minors while participating in STEM Girl Day at UT Austin. Custodial responsibility will remain with teachers, parents, legal guardians, and chaperones throughout the event.
STEM Girl Day at UT Austin is a celebration of all areas of science, technology, engineering, and math. It incorporates the international event Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day (Girl Day) celebrated during Engineers Week each year. STEM Girl Day at UT Austin is one of many university recruitment events designed to recruit students from underserved populations into STEM majors and career paths.
Registration opens on 12/1/25!

Location: UT Austin, Austin

Supervision level: This is NOT A DROP OFF EVENT. Adults are required to REGISTER and remain with their youth participants. Girl Scout volunteers bringing their troop must follow all Safety Activity Checkpoints.

Badge/Patch: Fun patches will be available at the GSCTX location on a first come, first served basis.
