Join biological anthropologist Dr. Liza Shapiro as she invites us to
rethink how we move. From nimble monkeys to powerful apes, primates
walk, climb, leap, and scramble in wildly different ways. And humans?
We're the odd ones out... but not in the way you might think.
Arrive early and explore Cool Activities from 5:30 - 6:40! Local
organizations will share exciting hands-on activities related to the
talk!
Hot Science - Cool Talks provides a front-row seat to
world-class research. Presented by the Environmental Science Institute
(ESI) this nationally recognized series allows leading researchers
from The University of Texas and other prominent universities to share
their passion for science, technology, engineering, and math with the
general public. Girl Scouts of Central Texas and University of Texas
are working together to pre-register 30 Girl Scouts and adults for
each "Hot Science" event.

Supervision Level: This is NOT A DROP OFF EVENT. Adults are required to REGISTER and remain with their youth participants. Girl Scout volunteers bringing their troop must follow all Safety Activity Checkpoints.
