Get babysitting certified and earn the Cadette Babysitter badge all in one afternoon! The HSI Child and Babysitting Safety workshop (CABS) is an accredited program that gives you everything you need to know for safe and successful babysitting. The program teaches how to start your business, how to work with parents and children, as well as key safety, caregiving, and first aid tips. Please bring a sack lunch. The course fee includes all materials, digital certification card and book as well as the Girl Scout badge. Location: Kodosky Service Center, Austin
Supervision level: This is a DROP OFF event, however, we require a certain number of safety-wise adults in order for the event to happen. Please plan to drop off your registered Girl Scout with required paperwork submitted at check in. If you can volunteer, please register into one of the adult spots. If enough adults are not registered by the registration close date, this event may need to be cancelled. All adults registering to volunteer at the event are required to be a registered Girl Scout adult member, have a current/eligible criminal background check (CBC), and have completed GSCTX youth protection training.
Badge/Patch: Cadette Babysitting Badge will be given out at the event.
Required paperwork: Please complete the following sections of the Council Event Health and Permission Forms, print, and bring with you to the event: Sections A and B.
