Ever been to Camp Texlake? If not, this event is for you! Campers will enjoy a weekend of fun filled camp favorites like fishing and making a take home craft. Daisies will be able to try using sling shots while Brownies can shoot arrrows at archery! Even the adults who register can get in on the fun with their campers. Participants will also have the opportunity to hop on a hay ride around Camp Texlake. Campers will wrap up the day on Saturday with singing camp songs around an actual campfire. We can't wait to see you at Camp Texlake!
Lodging: We will do our best to house troop members
together, however, depending on building capacities, there will likely
be other Girl Scouts staying in same the building and possibly in the
same room besides your troop members. All adults participating with a
troop or registered to volunteer at the event are required to have a
current/eligible background check (CBC), to be a registered Girl Scout
adult volunteer, and to have completed GSCTX youth protection
training.
Love, Hug, & Groom: This is an
OPTIONAL girl camper only activity. Come and join
us at the barn for this introduction session at the barn. Campers will
meet with the on site Equestrian person and learn about all things
horse camp! The campers will meet the horses of Camp Texlake, groom a
horse, and participate in a pony ride on one of our awesome horses.
The Horses of Camp Texlake and the Camp Texlake Barn Staff can't wait
to meet you! You must choose 1 of 6 sessions offered for girls only.
All adults and girls who do not wish to particpate must select the
"No Love, Hug, and Groom" session.
Location: Camp Texlake, Spicewood
Supervision level: This is NOT A DROP OFF EVENT. Adults are required to REGISTER, PAY, and remain with their youth participants. Girl Scout volunteers bringing their troop must follow all Safety Activity Checkpoints.
Special Instructions: Check in with start promptly at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.This program includes breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday.
Badge: Fun patch handed out at event
