Community Troop Intern (Kodosky Service Center, Austin)
Support Community Troops Program Team during the development, implementation and evaluation of Community Troop Programs. Work collaboratively with the Program Team to provide quality programs that ensure the council goals and objectives are met. Support GSBB Program Specialist during the development, implementation and evaluation of GSBB program. GSBB serves girls whose mother is incarcerated. Resource Development Intern (Kodosky Service Center, Austin)
Girl Scouts of Central Texas (GSCTX) is a dynamic youth leadership organization with an $8.2M annual budget headquartered in Austin, Texas. GSCTX currently has openings for two energetic and capable Resource Development Interns to assist and support the resource development department in its efforts to capture 50,000 users of Google’s Made with Code and in its efforts to create sustainable giving campaigns. GSCTX is headquartered in North Austin and serves 46 Central Texas Counties. The Resource Development Executive, based in the Great Austin area, will focus fundraising efforts on the following Texas counties: Travis, Hays, Williamson, Blanco, Burnet, Llano, Gillespie, Caldwell, and Bastrop Counties. Travel Intern (Bryan/College Station Area Service Center, Bryan)
Support the Council Travel Coordinator during the fall destinations season. Attend the destinations financial aid committee meetings. Coordinate with girls, volunteers, adults and collaborators involved in all council sponsored trips. The Marketing and Communications Department seeks 1–2 unpaid PR interns to assist with all functions of the department with an emphasis on media relations and content development. Applicants should have strong writing skills, strong speaking skills, and be customer service-minded. Internships are part-time and are available fall, spring, and summer. The Marketing Department seeks an unpaid PR intern to assist with all functions of the Marketing and Communications department with an emphasis on social media and content development for online materials. Applicants should have strong writing skills, be customer service-minded and have a basic understanding of web development tools. Internships are part-time and are available fall, spring, and summer. STEM Intern (Kodosky Service Center, Austin)
The Program team is looking for a STEM intern to support the STEM Program Manager during the development, implementation, and evaluation of council programs. The STEM intern will work collaboratively with the Program Team to provide quality programs that ensure the council goals and objectives are met. See more.
Role Summary: The Program Facilitator position is a flexible program delivery role that provides programming to help GSCTX connect girls (grades K-12) to a world of possibilities in a positive and inclusive girl-led environment.
Major Accountabilities: Provide high-quality program experiences to girls in accordance with specific grant requirements and Girl Scout programming outcomes. Work with Girl Scouts of Central Texas staff to increase Girl Scout retention and support new volunteers in a local community within our Girl Scouts of Central Texas council. Program schedules will vary. The Program Facilitator may work on weekends, evenings, during the school day, and/or during after school sessions. The Program Facilitator will maintain proper documentation for the measurement of program success.
Requirements: A program facilitator should: exhibit strong human relations skills such as leadership, networking, and relationship building; have the ability to pay close attention to detail and maintain confidentiality; be a self-starter with strong organizational skills, ability to problem solve and meet deadlines while working under pressure; written and spoken communication skills with tact, diplomacy, and/or authority when necessary.
Individual must have reliable transportation to program events, be computer literate, and have technical knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. May need to know or be able to learn other software specific to Girl Scouts. Successful completion of a criminal background check on an annual basis; occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Facilitators must follow all GS safety activity checkpoints and policies and guidelines for working with GS, including all rules pertaining to non-drop off programs.
A facilitator should recognize that last-minute cancellations on the part of the facilitator are not acceptable unless there are extenuating circumstances. Scheduling must be a priority.
