Have you ever wondered what it takes to bring a show to life on
stage? Step behind the curtain at the Long Center and discover the
exciting world of theater as you earn your Theater Science badge!
Explore backstage spaces and learn cool technical theater secrets
straight from real theater professionals. Then, end the night with an
unforgettable sleepover, drifting off as you gaze at the sparkling
Austin skyline from the Long Center's mezzanine level. It's science,
creativity, and adventure-all in one amazing experience!
Pizza
dinner and a light breakfast are provided. Note that this badge
workshop is not in conjunction with any specific performances.
Separate sleeping area available for male chaperones.
Location: Long Center, Austin
Supervision level: This is NOT A DROP OFF EVENT. Adults are required to REGISTER, PAY, and remain with their youth participants. Girl Scout volunteers bringing their troop must follow all Safety Activity Checkpoints. All adults participating in an overnight event are required tobe a registered Girl Scout adult member, have a current/eligible criminal background check (CBC), and have completed GSCTX youth protection training.
Badge/Patch: Junior and Senior Theater Science Badges will be given out at the event.
Required paperwork: Please complete the following sections of the Council Event Health and Permission Forms, print, and bring with you to the event: Section A.
