AUSTIN, TEXAS (May 21, 2025) --- Girl Scouts of Central Texas (GSCTX) announced today that Leslie Midgley, board member since 2013 and Girl Scout alum, has been elected President and Chair of the Board of Directors. Having previously served as GSCTX Board Chair in 2017, and having also served as the chair of the Council Board Development Committee and the Fund Development Committee during her long-time board service, Leslie returns to the role of Board Chair with a wealth of experience and insight to strategically guide the organization to continue its legacy of building courageous, confident leaders while meeting Central Texas girls and families where they are today.
Executive Vice President and CEO of Texas Land Title Association, Leslie’s professional career has provided her with deep experience in leading and managing nonprofit organizations. Her career path from Girl Scout youth member to professional leadership has equipped her with a unique combination of reverence for tradition and vision for innovation. Leslie's deep-rooted understanding of Girl Scouts’ organizational values, paired with her strategic expertise, makes her a transformative leader who honors heritage while boldly steering organizational evolution.
“I was very timid when I was young, and Girl Scouting gave me the confidence I needed to get outside my comfort zone and expand my horizons. It also gave me the opportunity to make meaningful connections and lasting friendships with people who had different perspectives or experiences from mine, and taught me the importance of not only respecting but also cherishing those differences that bind us together as humans. That experience—and those relationships— guide and influence me to this day,” said Leslie. She continued, “the lessons we all learned together about how to treat other people, be contributors in our community, improve things around us, and stretch ourselves are foundational to how I approach the world.” As Board Chair, Leslie is committed to helping Girl Scouts of Central Texas evolve with our community, to meet the changing needs of girls today. Leslie says, “I’m excited about the work our council is doing to innovate what we offer girls and how we offer it. I look forward to working with our board to meet the needs of girls today and for the future.”
