Founder's Scholarship
The Girl Scouts of Central Texas is pleased to recognize our graduating high school seniors. This year we are offering ten $1,000 Founder's Scholarships for further education to graduating seniors who are members of GSCTX.
General guidelines for awarding these scholarships are as follows:
- Attendance at trade or technical school will be considered as well as attendance at a college or a university.
- Recipients must be active participants in Girl Scouting. This participation could be at the council, service unit, troop or camp level. Affiliation with a troop is not necessary.
- Recipients must have demonstrated good academic progress and be serious about their education.
- Financial need may also be considered.
To be considered please complete an application, financial need form, reference form and a copy of your high school transcipt through at least the end of 11th grade. Applications must be mailed to the Kodosky Program Center by February 13, 2010.

The Texas Elks State Association offers a $2,500 college scholarship to Girl Scout Gold Award recipients. Applications should be submitted through local lodges. Lodges within the 46 counties served by GSCTX include Austin, Bryan, Brenham, Brownwood, Georgetown, San Angelo, Stephenville and Temple (see complete list of lodges). The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is currently accepting applications for the Conditional Grant Program (CGP). The grant is available to graduating high school seniors and current college students majoring in civil engineering, computer science or management information systems. The maximum amount to be awarded is $3,000 per semester not to exceed $6,000 per academic year. Learn more. The Scholarships for Military Children Program, sponsored by the Defense Commissary Agency, awards $1,500 scholarships to unmarried children, under the age of 21, of military active duty, Reserve, Guard and retired personnel. Download the application. The Hispanic Scholarship Consortium (HSC) seeks to accomplish one goal: to open the doors to opportunity for Hispanic students through access to higher education. HSC is a collective of grassroots organizations across Central Texas that, through financial assistance and mentoring, helps Hispanic students get into and succeed in college. From scholarships to college counseling to career development services, HSC’s member and partner organizations offer Hispanic scholars the chance to pursue the first step of their dreams by attaining a college education.
