Program Aide Core Training (PACT)
PACT teaches teen Girl Scouts to work directly with younger girls under the supervision of an adult advisor. PACT offers leadership opportunities to Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors.
Program Aide Specialty Training (PAST)
PAST enables teen Girl Scouts to become proficient in an area of interest and to develop leadership skills by sharing their specialized knowledge with younger girls in a troop or group setting. Girl Scouts are required to attend PACT before attending specialty training.
The following Specialty Trainings are available: Songs, Games, SWAPS, Ceremonies, Science, Outdoor Cooking, Outdoor Skills, EDGE Technology, and Arts and Crafts.
Program Aide Pin Requirements
Girl Scout Cadettes must have completed:
- 6th grade (Pg. 40 in the Cadette Girl Scout handbook)
- Core training (PACT)
- Two specialty trainings (PAST)
Girl Scout Seniors & Ambassadors must have completed:
- 9th grade; must be a Senior Girl Scout
- Core training (PACT)
- Three specialty trainings (PAST)
Girl Scout Seniors & Ambassadors with a Cadette pin must have completed:
- One Additional Specialty Training (PAST)
The Cadette or Senior and Ambassador Program Aide Patch may be earned after 25 additional hours of service.
Program Aide Training Kit
Program Aide Core Training Kit: Program Aide Training is for girls who have completed 6th grade and up. Program Aides will learn to work directly with younger girls under the supervision of an adult Girl Scout in settings such as troop activities, council or service unit events/day camps. The kit includes all the supplies necessary to complete Program Aide Core Training (PACT). Girls completing the training will receive their Program Aide pin and tee-shirt. $10 fee per girl/$25 deposit
Songs 101 Training Kit: Learn the classic Girl Scout songs and how to teach them. This kit can be used to complete the Program Aide Specialty Training (PAST) or as an enrichment training for Green Leaves. $10/$25 deposit

Program Aide Training Days
GSCTX offers Program Aide Training Days in the spring to get girls ready to work as PAs for our summer day camps. Check out schedule of training dates.
Girls can earn their Program Aide Training Pin and T-shirt in one day. Program Aide Training Events will include Program Aide Core Training and two Program Aide Specialty Trainings. Program Aide Training classes are $12 per girl and include a pin and T-shirt. Register using a Council Event Registration Form.
