Learn about birds while making their home a better place by plirding
with Travis Audubon.
"Plirding," which is shorthand
for "picking up litter while birding," is a great way to
enjoy nature while making it a better place for wildlife to live.
Experts from Travis Audubon will talk about the importance of birds in
our everyday lives, and then we will explore the trails at Hornsby
Bend, looking and listening for birds while we clean up any litter we
see.
You'll leave this event knowing more about local birds and
feeling good about your role in protecting them! Materials for picking
up litter will be provided. Please wear comfortable closed-toe walking
shoes, and bring personal snacks, and a refillable water bottle.
Restrooms and water station facilities are available onsite.
All
visitors must present an ID to enter the main gate because Hornsby
Bend is a wastewater facility.
