Camp Wood Lake

Girls at Camp Wood LakeCamp Wood Lake, located on the shores of Lake Brownwood, is the council's 49-acre residential camp in Brown County. Program opportunities include sailing, canoeing, archery and more.

Camp Wood Lake has overnight accommodations for up to 150. While its primary use is for Girl Scout functions, it is available for outside user groups.

For girl safety, neither directions nor maps to camp are available to the general public. Directions with a map are only sent in event confirmation packs.

Fall and Spring Reservations September –May: Email the Camps Coordinator to check availability. After a tentative reservation is made and your deposit is received, a reservation packet will be mailed to you. Facility fees and activity fees are due at least 30 days prior to your campout. Activities are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis after your fees are received.

NEW! Summer Reservations June - August: Email the Camps Coordinator to check availability. Troop and family camping is available at this Camp Wood Lake only. Campers and boats allowed

  • Arts Building—indoor program space
  • Archery Range—secluded archery range
  • Swimming Pool
  • Boating Area—contains a dock, 6 canoes and 3 paddleboats
Dining Areas

Approximately 4,800 square feet in size, the Dining Hall accommodates 150 guests. Kitchen facilities are not available for use. Other amenities include tables, chairs and a pantry. The camp office is located in the same building.

Housing Areas
  • Mariner Unit—located on the waterfront and able to sleep 24 guests
  • Pathfinder Unit—5 cabins and a separate bath house, includes a program building that can accommodate winter camping, sleeps 8 per cabin
  • Trailblazer Unit—located near main camp and the dining hall, 10 platform tents and a separate bath house, includes a program building
  • Explorer Unit—normally for older girl programs, located in the secluded lower section of camp, includes canvas tents on wooden platforms and a program building
  • Outpost Area—primitive site secluded from the main camp for pitching your own tent
