Join Hack Club for a day of building creative projects with code and design as you explore the future of technology with Girl Scouts of Central Texas. Hack Club, a global community of high school makers, is working with Girl Scouts of Central Texas to host this Hackathon. Join other teenage technology lovers at Hackathon Oasis.
A hackathon is a space that helps give makers everything they need to start building-mentors, collaborators, inspiration, and a goal to work towards. Hackers will leave a hackathon with a project of their own, ready, and excited to keep hacking once they get home.
Girl Scouts can register for one of the following tracks:

  • Creating Pixel- Art Video Games with Sprig: In this workshop, dive into the world of game design using Hack Club's Sprig editor. You'll create pixel art and develop your own video game. As a bonus, everyone in this track will receive their own video game console kit to assemble, adding a hands-on element to their gaming experience!
  • Create Your Own Electric Trinkets with Onboard: In this workshop, learn the fundamentals of Circuit Board design with Hack Club's OnBoard program. Explore the basics of EasyEDA, a free circuit design software, and after completing this track, receive your PCB to have a physical copy of your creation. From LED keychains to circuit playgrounds, you will brighten your way through the world of electronics!

Girl Scouts should plan to bring their own laptop or tablet with keyboard to this event. A limited number of laptops will be available to borrow, if needed. Youth will also need access to an email account, with password, to login to or verify access for software used throughout the day.

Location: FUTO Austin, Austin
