Sailors begin or continue working on their understanding of sailing
and beginning boat handling skills at Camp Kachina on Lake Belton.
This includes the basics of sailing departing from land, steering,
turning, stopping/starting while out on the water, and returning to
shore. Sailors are encouraged, but not required, to take Fundamentals
Level 1 more than once to improve their skills and confidence. Sailors
must have attended a prior Mariner event, such as Ground School, Lets
Go Sailing!, or Introduction to Sailing. Sailors will have time to
practice their skills and may have the opportunity to test on one or
more skills.

Special Instructions: To participate and remain at
camp, girls MUST bring to check-in:
1. An Overnight Permission

2. A copy of their GSCTX Health Form for 2022-2023

4. A copy of their GSCTX Swim Card or have
one on file with the Mariner Program

Girls Only. Please verify that an emergency contact with
their correct contact information is listed. Adult spots are
reserved for Mariner Adults.
Note: Adult registration is only for pre-arranged safety-wise adult
volunteers provided by the Mariner Program. If you are interested in
becoming an adult volunteer, please contact us at ctxmariners@gmail.com.
A confirmation email with a packing list and more information
will be sent after the closing date. The event takes place rain or
shine. Weather determines the amount of sailing time on the lake.
This is a DROP OFF event. Meals (Saturday Breakfast though Sunday Lunch) and safety-wise adults are provided. Please plan to drop off your registered Girl Scout with drop off forms submitted at check in. Please fill out the Drop-Off & Release Form and bring it with you. This form can be found in the My Events section of your myGS account by clicking on the event and scrolling to the Additional Documentation section.
