Let's Go! 3 (Austin) 2/4/23
For: Adult Volunteers
Lets go 3!: This training course is required for primitive camping at a facility/location without running water and electricity (e.g. tent camping). This class trains volunteers to expand their horizons and move out of buildings and into the outdoors. Participants will learn the eight basic camping skills, how to include the girls in planning, budgeting, packing for an overnight trip, safety, fire-building, cooking, sanitation, and many other activities. This in-person course lasts four hours.
Location: Shindler private residence, Austin
Special Instructions: Please bring a mess kit and camp chair to be prepared to eat the meal you prepared. Prerequisites to this course are "Let's Go! 1 Out and About" and "Let's Go! 2 Fire, Food and Fun" which can be found in gsLearn
Check-In is at 12:30 pm; training starts at 1:00. Late arrivals (30 minutes or more) will not be allowed to attend the training. Bring paper and pen, water bottle, personal items, camp chair, mess kit and eating utensils in a mesh bag (dip bag.) Wear closed-toed shoes. Hair must be tied back. This training will NOT be cancelled due to weather so bring appropriate clothing.
