For: Adult Volunteers

This training course is required for troops that want to build a campfire at any camping activity where the facility has running water and electricity. This course trains volunteers to build fires, cook a simple one-pot meal, and make s'mores. There are two versions available - this in person course and a new one-hour online course which can be found in gsLearn. This is the second step in outdoor training. This allows girls and volunteers to expand and move out of buildings and into the outdoors. This training will NOT be cancelled due to inclement weather, come prepared for any and all weather conditions.

Location: Shindler private residence, Austin

Special Instructions: Please bring a mess kit and also a camp chair. Prerequisite to this course is "Let's Go! 1 Out and About" which can be found in gsLearn  

Check-In is at 8:30 am; training starts at 9:00. Late arrivals (30 minutes or more) will not be allowed to attend the training.  Bring paper and pen, water bottle, personal items, a camp chair. a mess kit with utensils in a mesh bag (dip bag.)  Wear closed-toed shoes.  Hair must be tied back. This training will NOT be cancelled due to weather so bring appropriate clothing.
