Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a theater production of Carmela Full of Wishes!
Carmela Full of Wishes is based on the Newbery and Caldecott-winning duo Matt de Pea and Christian Robinsons Childrens novel of the same name. We follow young Carmela on her 7th Birthday as she accompanies her older brother on errands around her neighborhood and she considers what she wants to really wish for on the dandelion she finds growing between the sidewalks. This show teaches audiences empathy and facing the wonder and realities of living in America.
This show is targeted towards younger audiences: grades 1-5.
Want to get more out of the show? Participants can find a packet on the Blinn website (coming soon). The packet includes pre-show activities and post-show resources.

Special instructions: This is NOT A DROP OFF EVENT. Adults are required to remain with their Girl Scouts. As required by Volunteer Essentials and Safety Activity Checkpoints, adults attending this event are responsible for their troop or individual Girl Scouts behavior. During non drop off Girl Scout events, adults attending the event are responsible for the safety and well-being of the youth that are in their care during the event. Do not leave your Girl Scouts in the care of other adults at the event that are not part of your troop or directly related to the child.

All adults participating with a troop or registered to volunteer at the event are required to have a current/eligible background check (CBC) and to be a registered Girl Scout adult volunteer. The easiest way to obtain a CBC is to add the "troop friends and family" role to your membership. It is highly recommended but not required that caregivers attending with their Girl Scout(s) be a registered GSCTX member and have a CBC on file.

Badge/Patch: No badge or patch will be given out. However, attending the show aligns with the Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration Yo soy una Girl Scout! patch.

Contact for registration questions: Ticket purchaing is through Blinn Bryan Theatre. Please contat them directly with any questions.
