Samsung STEM Rescue Challenge 2022 (J/C) 10/8-9/22

Girl Scouts of Central Texas’s 9th Annual Samsung STEM Challenge will be held at Camp Texlake over the October 8-9th weekend. Juniors and Cadettes will engage in engineering challenges as they work to complete a series of survivor inspired tasks. Girls will be grouped during the day for challenges with the same girls from their cabins. While at camp, girls will be focused on STEM Rescue Challenges!

To commemorate this exciting weekend, all girls will get to take home a Samsung STEM Challenge themed t-shirt and an event patch! The weekend includes lodging for Saturday night, all meals on Saturday and breakfast Sunday, plus supplies to complete 3 challenges.

Event Safety Requirements/Special Instructions:

Coming with more than one Girl Scout?

  • Please file an online ATA form prior to September 20th https://www.gsctx.org/tta
  • All adults in attendance must be a registered Girl Scout members and have a Criminal Background Check (CBC) on file with Girl Scouts of Central Texas.
    • CBCs for all adults will be strictly enforced and CBCs not completed in time will mean that registrations will be cancelled.
    • If you’re not sure if your CBC is current, please check your myGS page.
    • If you need a CBC, fill out the form here: https://www.gsctx.org/en/our-council/web-to-case.html and indicate that you need to have a CBC on file.
  • You must provide the proper safety-wise adult ratio for your group and have the required trainings for traveling out to the camp (Let’s Go! 1, CPR, and First Aid). Let’s Go! 2 training is recommended. Please try to keep to the ratio minimum for your group, so we have enough space for all the girls
  • All persons at the camp MUST be registered members (girls AND adults). All persons (girls and adults) staying the weekend and participating in activities/meals, MUST pre-register. No Tagalongs allowed on camp.
  • This is NOT a drop off event, as it involves sleeping over at Camp Texlake. You are responsible for your girl(s) throughout the weekend at all times.

  • Tagalongs are not able to attend this event (any children under the age of 5 or siblings/friends not registered as Girl Scouts). All Girl Scouts must be registered to participate in the event and be Junior or Cadette level.
