Master Property Plan logo

In 2014, GSCTX adopted a three-phase Master Property Plan (MPP). What does this mean? The goal of the MPP is to enhance the quality, diversity, and accessibility of the Girl Scouts Leadership Experience while confronting the critical need for repear and renewal of agency properties. MPP started as a three phase plan; however, MPP has expanded to five phases in order to complete the needed improvements.

The Nature Center has solar panels and a water catchment system. With these additions, the Nature Center demonstrates resource and energy conservation. Meanwhile, the team is getting ready for camp; we can't wait to see you this summer!

Scout House Updates

Bryan Scout House

The renovation of the Bryan Scout House is almost complete! It is just missing a commercial vent hood. The Bryan Scout House is located in Municipal Park in Bryan, Texas. Originally built in 1940, an addition built in the 1970's led to foundation issues. With the renovation, the addition was demolished; the foundation repaired, and the addition rebuilt. The building has been improved with ADA access, parking, and bathroom. We are still seeking donations to help fund the costs.

Caldwell Scout House gets needed storage space!

The Caldwell Scout House has limited meeting space, and the Burleson County Service Unit needed additional storage without impacting the ability for girls to meet. The addition of a shed allows groups to continue to meet in the scout house while storing large items in the shed.

Marble Falls Scout House Re-Opened after Flood!

During the Llano River flood in October 2018, the Marble Falls Scout House was damaged with floodwaters. The Marble Falls Scout House was a project in MPP Phase 1. Located in Johnson Park, the scout house is a great example of collaboration between the Wildflower Trails Service Unit; the city, community, and businesses of Marble Falls; and GSCTX. After the flood, the same collaboration allowed the scout house to re-open in February 2019.
