Girl Scouts and Faith
Celebrating Spirituality and Faith
Girl Scouts is a value-based organization that encourages girls to
take spiritual journeys through their faiths’ religious recognitions.
We support girls from all backgrounds and beliefs. Everything in Girl
Scouting is based on the Girl Scout Promise and Law, which includes
many of the principles held across many faiths.
Girl Scouts Celebrate Faith 2022
- Girl Scout Sunday: March 6, 2022
- Girl Scout Jummah: March 11, 2022
- Girl Scout Sabbath/Shabbat: March 11 – 12, 2022
My Promise, My Faith
Girls of all grade levels can now earn the My Promise, My Faith pin, which complements existing religious recognitions and allows girls to further strengthen the connection between their faith and Girl Scouts. Once each year, a girl can earn the My Promise, My Faith pin by carefully examining the Girl Scout Law and tying it directly to tenets of her faith. Requirements for this pin are included in The Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting for all levels. Read more.
Girl Scout High Awards and Faith
The Girl Scout Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards represent the highest achievement in Girl Scouts. Higher Award Girl Scouts are challenged to change the world—or at least their corner of it. For many girls, their community of faith is a place where they strive to make a difference, and many higher award projects are completed in partnership with churches, temples, mosques, and synagogues.
Girl Scout Sunday and Girl Scout Sabbath
Girl Scouts is committed to strengthening its relationship with faith communities. Girl Scout Week, held each year around the March 12th Girl Scout birthday, begins with Girl Scout Sunday and ends with the Girl Scout Sabbath, during which Girl Scouts are encouraged to participate in the service at their church or house of worship.
Hey, volunteers! Promote strong values, leadership, and service in your community with faith-based programming.
