Council Patch Program

Girl Scouts of Central Texas offers additional patch programs, beyond those listed in the program-level handbooks. Every Girl Scout grade level has a patch curriculum that can be accomplished, many of which can be done right at home. Below are just a few to get her started:

Time Capsule

Our lives are marked through historical events and, believe it or not, we are living through history right now! Here's your chance to document your moment in history with a time capsule. With the help of your caregiver, be part of our time capsule by creating artifacts for future generations!

S'mores Baking Activities

Girl Scouts love s'mores, and we don't need a campfire to enjoy them! Try making sidewalk s'mores or bake one in the oven. When you're done enjoying your tasty treat, have s'more fun and follow along with the activity book (PDF).

Choose from our list of local parks and trails to support or lead a project of your own! Get started with your troop to lead the way for our next 100 years.

Fighting Hunger in Central Texas

Girl Scouts can make a big difference in their communities—and for children around the world—by supporting hunger-relief efforts.

Through Fighting Hunger, there are lots of ways for your troop to have an impact even if you aren’t able to give food directly. Opportunities for service include supporting or organizing a food drive, thanking food bank heroes, and participating in activities to unlock local and global impact with your troop.

Check out Girl Scout  National Service Projects for instructions on how your troop can get involved, then select a local food bank in your area to support using the list below.

Local Food Banks
Listed by County

The list is just a few options available in Central Texas counties and is not intended to be an exhaustive list of organizations. Troops are welcome to work with food banks not included in this list.

Resources from GSUSA and Other Councils

National Girl Scouts at Home
Stay connected to Girl Scouts across the nation and around the world.

Bring the exploration, fun, and learning of Girl Scouts to your family even when circumstances are keeping Girl Scouts from meeting up in person. After all, Girl Scouts isn’t somewhere girls go or something they do—it’s who they are day in, day out. Use these self-guided, free activities to keep your girl, your troop, and your community connected. Some of our favorites include:

Girl Scouts Love the Outdoors Challenge

Complete a series of entertaining outdoor-related activities to unlock a special patch. Explore the outdoors from your window, front step, laptop or the wide-open trail!

Girls are Superheroes Patch

It’s time for you to show off your own Superhero Spirit! The three activities that make up this patch are Girl Scout favorites that showcase how badges increase a girl’s ability to face any challenge that comes her way.

Women in STEM Coloring Book

When girls explore what women can achieve in a STEM career, they see the powerful connection between science and making the world a better place. And she discovers how she can change the world too!

Global Action Award

In 2015, leaders worldwide agreed to work together to accomplish 17 goals by 2030: the Global Goals for Sustainable Development (SDGs). They focus on topics like taking care of the environment, making sure all people have enough to eat, and improving people’s health. Although they’re big goals, Girl Scouts know a thing or two about changing the world!

Our Global Action award calls for girls to address the SDGs by discovering, connecting, and taking action in their communities and beyond. In 2020, we’re emphasizing SDG #5 (gender equality). In 2021, girls will explore SDG #13 (climate action) to earn their Global Action award.

The Global Action award is an official national award, so Girl Scouts can wear it on their vest or sash, just like a badge.
