At Girl Scouts of Central Texas, Outdoor Programs aims to fuilfill every Girl Scout's desire to go beyond, and to challenge girls to become future leaders that are adaptable and experienced. Discover, Connect, and Take-Action...

Join the High Adventure Team (HAT) and challenge yourself while backpacking in Colorado or rock climbing in Enchanted Rock. HAT is for Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors that are ready to hit the trail, plan outings and represent HAT at events. Apply today! 

Plan a camping trip, a day hike in a park or go kayaking with your troops and send pictures of your adventures to Outdoor Programs for a chance to be posted on our blog. 

Check out the Girl Calendar for events with an outdoor focus and come along with us as we learn about the outdoors together! 

Upcoming trips

June and August 2014: Ascend the High Rockies at the Rocky Moutain National Park, backpack in the backcountry for three days, camp in Moraine Park, explore the small town of Estes Park, CO and zipline at the YMCA of the Rockeis. Fee: $325 includes transportation, campsite use, some meal stipends, etc.

Swim Cards

Swim cards are required for any activity involving swimming or activities in water. Click here for more infromation regarding swim cards. In the Safety Checkpoints drop down list click on "Swim Cards" for the swim card document.

Explore a Series

Rock-On: Learn the basics of rocks and ropes. Learn how to tie knots, plan a route, how to be safe and more while scaling a cliff in your area. 

FarmGirls: Do you want to learn more about farming and agriculture? Permaculture? Aquaponics? Earn your "Sow What?" Journey while getting your hands dirty on the farm!
