So Many Ways to Volunteer

Think it’s a full year commitment? Think again.
Girl Scouts offers all kinds of flexible ways to participate. The possibilities are endless; the time commitment is totally up to you.

Girl Scouts offers the freedom to tailor your involvement to fit your schedule. Whether you have an hour, a day, a weekend or more, you’ll have fun and feel great knowing you have helped build girls of courage confidence and character.

Volunteer Pathways

  • Troops Become a troop leader. Watch them build self-esteem and realize their full potential.
  • Events Do you have high energy, but limited availability? Share your passion during half-or one-day Girl Scout events.
  • Series Many girls share your passion, why not share them in a way that fits your schedule?
  • Camps Share your appreciation for nature by taking girls camping. Hike. Bike. Canoe. You can camp by day or overnight.
  • Travel Want to expand girls’ horizons? Take a group of girls traveling. Whether it’s across town or around the world, the adventure will stay with you forever.
  • Virtual Become a virtual volunteer and help bring exciting programs and activities to Girl Scouts across the world.

How to become a volunteer

After an initial application and screening process, together we will determine the best placement for you in the organization. We will then train you for the position to ensure that you have the tools you need as a volunteer. You will also be asked to officially join Girl Scouts (GSUSA) by paying national dues.

As of April 15, 2013, GSCTX ceased using the online portal to conduct criminal background checks for volunteer applicants. For more information regarding this change, please click here to view the policy change memo. To complete a criminal background check, please click the "Volunteer Application (Criminal Background Check)" button below.
