Troop or Group Leader/Advisor
Adult leaders guide a specific group of girls in planning and carrying out Girl Scout activities. We offer comprehensive training to help leaders gain the necessary skills to carry out the Girl Scout program. Most training is offered at no charge.
Program Center Support
General duties include answering phones, filing, stuffing envelopes, copying, organizing supplies, and help set-up for events and meetings. Choose the days (Monday-Friday) and times (within normal business hours) that suit your availability to help at any one of the council’s program centers.
Bilingual Trainer
Lead trainings for Spanish-speaking volunteers offered throughout the council jurisdiction. Choose from pre-arranged days and hours.
Council Programs/Events
Assist with council events and workshops. Help with the event set-up, check-in process, hands-on activities and more. Events are offered throughout the council jurisdiction. Choose from pre-arranged days and hours.
EDGE Programs
Assist with technology-focused events and workshops. Help with the event set-up, check-in process, hands-on activities and more. Events are offered throughout the council jurisdiction. Choose from pre-arranged days and hours.
Juvenile Justice Initiatives
Help provide crime prevention programming for girls who are at high risk of arrest as adults, including girls whose mothers are incarcerated and girls who are on probation. Services include prevention education, therapy and case management. Opportunities available primarily in the Austin area. Choose from pre-arranged days and hours.
Shelter Initiative
Assist with programs provided at Austin-area shelter sites. The curriculum emphasizes safety and respect, and the goal of the program is to help girls feel connected to a troop during a transient and uncomfortable time in their lives, and to celebrate their resilience. Choose from pre-arranged days and hours.
School Programming
Assist with programs available through schools for girls in underserved areas and teen parents. Help with after-school meetings, breakfast club activities, chaperon field trips, and other extra-curricular activities. Opportunities available throughout the council jurisdiction. Speaker's Bureau
Provide general information at a Girl Scout exhibit booth. Share the Girl Scout story at a civic or community group as a guest speaker. Speaking opportunities are available throughout the council jurisdiction. Choose from pre-arranged days and hours.
Resource Library
Provide support to the council’s Resource Library, including check-in and check-out procedures, maintain inventory and equipment, greet visitors and help create program kits. Opportunities available at any one of the council’s program centers. Choose from pre-arranged days and hours.
