Resource Center

The Resource Center was developed especially for YOU, the Girl Scout leader and volunteer. We lend out books, videos, equipment and program activity kits in an effort to make your Girl Scout experience hassle free. Our resources are designed to relieve the worry of planning and allow leaders to interact more with the girls using innovative and fresh ideas in a fun, hands-on environment.

Check-out & Fees

All currently registered volunteers in good standing, without debt to Girl Scouts of Central Texas (i.e. cookie debt, lost equipment or books, returned checks, etc.) may check out or reserve items. To do so, complete a Resource Request Form and submit the completed form or information requested. You can also drop off, mail or fax the completed form to a council resource center. Upon receiving your request, we'll reserve the kit for you to pick up.

Fees and Deposits
Fees for the program kits cover the cost of refilling kit supplies, replacing worn items and repairing equipment as necessary. Library materials are free of charge. All items (including library materials) require a deposit.

Deposits can be by check or credit card and will be held until items are returned in good condition and on time. Deposits and rental/supply fees should be made as two separate payments. You forfeit your deposit when items are lost, damaged or late.

Return or Renew
Resource Center items may be checked out for a maximum of three weeks and all items must be returned on or before the due date or the deposit will be forfeited. Resource materials may be renewed, unless on reserve for another borrower. Renewal requests may be made by telephone, in person, or email. Materials that have a reservation pending the return will not be extended and must be returned immediately.

How can you support the Resource Center?

Donations are greatly appreciated! Girls can support the Resource Center by creating program kits when earning their Bronze or Silver Award. Program kits should be tested on a group of Girl Scouts before submitting to the Resource Center. Our Resource Center Committee meets once a month to review kit ideas that have been submitted, to develop kits, and provide additional support as needed. To join the committee or donate items, contact the Resource Center.
