Troops
What is a camporee? A camporee is a gathering of Girl Scouts with songs, SWAPs, activities and more! It harkens back to our beginnings as an organization 100 years ago, when a goal of scouting was to provide an opportunity for girls to come together in the outdoors.
We invite troops to participate in two different ways; troops are welcome to come for Saturday only while others will enjoy a full weekend of camping.
Register for Saturday only! Additional details can be found on the Day Visitor page.
All troops are encouraged to host an activity. For more information on how to sign up and see who's participating, visit the Activities page.

What is a Camporee?
See above.
When?
Our 100th Anniversary camporee will be held April 20-22, 2012. Campers can stay the weekend, while day visitors can come for the fun on Saturday, April 21st.
Where?
The camporee will be held on the site of the Sherwood Forest Renaissance Faire in McDade, TX. It is about 35 miles east of Austin and more details about the location can be found at the fair's website.
Who?
Any registered Girl Scout or Girl Scout Adult can attend the Camporee. As always, safetywise adults are required. Family members can attend for the day on the 21st of April
When and how do I register?
Registration for overnight camping has closed. If you want to join us for the day on April 21st, register here.
Why is overnight registration already closed?
Overnight registration opened in October. We needed to know how many people wanted to stay so we could order things like Port-o-Potties and other supplies. Registration closed at the end of January to give us two months to get supplies ordered. If you're still interested in coming, please join us for the day on April 21st!
How many SWAPS should I prepare? How many should I plan my activity for?
It's up to you how many SWAPS to make. Remember that the more you make, the more you'll get. We're expecting to have 4,000 Girl Scouts in attendance but not all of them are going to have SWAPS to share. We recommend that folks hosting booths plan on having two hundred people visit their booths throughout the day. We recommend people host activities that a lot of people can do without needed a lot of supplies.
Activities? What activities?
In addition to sponsored activities, such as archery, we are asking each troop to volunteer to host a booth of their own with some sort of craft or activity. We are hoping for a talent fair, where our girls can share with each other all the best that scouting has to offer. Check here for ideas and to see what other folks are doing!
I'd like to help this be the best Camporee ever, how do I volunteer?
Many hands make light work, and we'd love to have any interested people on board as we organize and carry out this event. In fact, we will need dedicated and enthusiastic scouts like you to make this event a success. To volunteer, please contact the 100th Anniversary Committee.
